What's happening, what's going on?

So who are we?
We're the directors of Refresh Bolivia - a completely independent 501 c-3 that was started by but is not affiliated with Harvard College students. We focus on healthcare and sanitation in Cochabamba, Bolivia. Some of our projects include: constructing workshops for a teenage rehabilitation center, getting a clinic going in a peri-urban underserved district, implementing our 1 cup flush eco-toilets, running a volunteer trip with American college students and coordinating efforts with on the ground Bolivian NGOs to empower them as much as we can. Check out our website here for more. If you ever have any questions then please feel free to email us or Claudia directly.
What's going to happen?
Right now, Claudia's on her gap year (inspired by RB of course) prior to starting medical school, so she'll be posting a lot on the blog for these next couple of months. There will be no set times of posting, this really depends on our free time and what our interests are at the moments. Of course Akshay and Lathan will post when they can, and we might even have some special guests (our advisors) throw us a post.
What's the structure?
This is not an academic journal in any sense, these posts may or may not have specific citations and there is no set structure that they will follow. This is an informal blog, so as a result you'll get to hear a bit of our voices through the writing. However, every post will be written with only positive intentions and in our best attempts to be respectful of every religion, culture, gender, sexual preference, color, ethnicity, nationality and anything else you can think of!
What's the point of this?
To reflect on our on the ground work and to reflect on literature that we read about healthcare globally. While our interest in global health is shown through our work in Bolivia - the posts in this blog will not all be explicitly about Bolivia. We wanted a place to be able to share all of our thoughts that are global health related and decided to make it a public space! So if you're a young, upcoming global health professional don't hesitate the reach out to have a conversation or to write a post. Really anyone in global health is welcome - and global health is all encompassing, if you're reading this at all then you probably do care about global health
Thanks for reading everyone!
